I seriously began my journey into portrait drawing in January 2012.  What has kept we away from art for so long is my color blindness.  I have issue picking up red in other colors that contain it.  As such art never really got it’s hooks in.  Leading up to January 2012, I had noticed the way light fell on things and thought, I bet I could draw that.  So I tried to draw a person with the goal of capturing their likeness.  I’m not so good at this that I can sit in front of you and over 20 minutes I could hammer out your likeness in the kind of detail some of my newer work has.  I mostly work from photographs.  I’m still learning how I like to do this.

Here is a selection of my work so far.  I have it ordered in reverse order of my drawing it.  So the newest stuff is first.
