| Congratulations!
You have found the bonus track. Pretty tricky, huh?
Maranatha was one of the
first songs I wrote specifically for Holy Trinity. We
were just approaching the advent season and I was looking
for a way to really drive home the reason for those four
Sundays of advent. I sat down to write a chant.
I was looking for something modern, yet traditional
sounding. Maranatha is what came out. It was
written over the space of about one hour. Maranatha
means, "Come quickly, Lord" or "The Lord has come."
For advent I used the first translation. Holy Trinity
sang this song at the beginning of every service throughout
advent.
This song was not ever
meant to be on Forward Motion. I wrote it after
all the other tracks had already been recorded. I was
in the middle of mixing the rest of the CD. I decided
to record it for the benefit of the other member of the
church band so they could learn it more easily. My
little demo recording ended up sounding pretty good, so I
decided to make it my very sneaky hidden bonus track on the
CD. This is the only track on the CD that only has me
on it. |
