Jesus,  I worship You
I worship You.
Worship you, Lord.

I love the way You draw me close to You.
I want to worship You in everything I do.
With Your loving, loving arms
All around me
You’re more than worthy
More than worthy
Of praise.

Holy One, I worship You
I worship You.
Worship You, Lord.

More Than Worthy is a song that I wrote spontaneously after singing another song.  I was picking the music for a worship set at my church one evening.  I had just finished singing Heart of Worship by Matt Redman.  Just as the song was ringing out and I was thinking of what the song was actually saying, I started to sing this song.  There isn't much to say about it's theology really.  It's an intimate song.  It can be an honest song if sung from the right mindset.  I remember deciding on the line, "I want to worship you in everything I do."  This is a line that I think is really transparent to God if we sing it when we don't really mean it.  I chose the word "want" specifically here, because I realized that I couldn't justify telling God that I worship Him in everything I do.  It may be a goal and a worthy one at that, but maybe not that realistic.  I could say however, that I wanted it to be like that.  I think it's a goal we can all strive for, though I'm not sure we will ever achieve it in our humanness.

This song is recorded much like I use it in a live setting.  I chose not to use a traditional drum kit just to keep it interesting.  Vocally, it is almost identical to the way the Holy Trinity music group performs it.  Not surprising as the singers are all members of the group.   And once again, my good friend Michael Wilke has managed to add his touch to this song that has left a really sweet flavour.   The downloadable clip for this song features some of Michael's bass work.  There aren't many songs you can hear that have a bass solo lasting as long as it does here.  I love it.  Shauna also came up with these awesome "Holy One" echoes that really lifted the second verse for me.  I really like the way they turned out.
