Make me (Make me)
More like a lamb release from the stall
Lord, I want to answer You call
For You saved me

Show me (Show Me)
Why I’m always holding on
To a heart that isn’t as strong
As when you made me.

There’s a song inside of me
That’s longing to get out and be
Worship that is ultimately free!

Undignify Me! Undignify Me!  Undignify me!
As I lay down crowns
As I lay down crowns
At Your feet.

Teach me (teach me)
How to cast down my pride
And set myself aside
To worship freely

 Make me (make me)
More willing to make a stand
To dance before the Lamb
Who was slain for me

I wrote this song to be what I thought was the first step for any worshipper.  I wrote it after contemplating using Matt Redman's "Undignified" at our church.  I've always liked that song.  I think it truly speaks to how we should strive to be in worship.  Fully and freely focused on God.  I found that I so often need help getting there though.  That thinking inspired me to write the song that might be considered a pre-requisite song for the worshipper preparing to sing Matt Redman's "Undignified".  I've always been the type that intends to be free in worship as David is in 2 Samuel 6:22 but I so often end up being concerned with appearances.  I have prayed so many times for God to cultivate in me the worshipper heart of David.  I suppose this song is that prayer.

This was one of the last songs that was completed for the CD.  I had a hard time deciding on how to get into and out of the song.  I ended up using the lead guitar to get us in and out.  I think the song carries a good deal of energy that way.  This is another song that I really enjoy the vocals on.  It sat as a duet for quite a long time until I managed to come up with a 2nd harmony.  It just didn't seem to have the energy it needed with only two harmony parts.  I think this song might be the one most likely to be picked up by a radio station some day.  It just seems to have that radio sound - or so I'm told.  I guess we'll see what God wants to do with it.
